The Trio Reinecke, formed by Bernardo Bertamini (clarinet), Elena Lorenzoni (viola), and Samuele Masera (piano), was founded in Trento in 2023 and quickly distinguished itself on both the national and international music scenes.

The ensemble is devoted to the study of the complete repertoire written for this unusual instrumentation, spanning from the Classical period to contemporary music.

The group’s name, “Reinecke,” was chosen in homage to the German composer Carl Reinecke, whose bicentenary was celebrated in 2024. Reinecke dedicated his Trio Op. 264 to this chamber formation—his final composition and the last work he himself performed in public at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, marking the conclusion of his long career.

The Trio has won numerous prizes, including third prize at the 29th International Chamber Music Competition “Giulio Rospigliosi,” first prize at the 2023 “Concorso Internazionale Città di Alessandria,” and at the 5th Swiss International Music Competition – World Championship in Music Art.

In 2024, the ensemble attended the chamber music masterclass held by the Trio di Parma during the 42nd International Music Festival of Portogruaro.

The Trio has performed at major concert venues and festivals, including the Accademia di Merano, Palazzo de Probizer in Isera, the 18th “Concerti a Palazzo” Festival in Sacile, Gondwana Gallery in Berlin, the Grieg-Begegnungsstätte in Leipzig, the Monferrato Classic Festival, Asolo Matinée, Casa Menotti in Spoleto, Fundación Eutherpe in León (Spain), the Döblinger Bezirksmuseum in Vienna, Kammermusikfreunde in Tübingen (Germany), Musica delle Stelle at Viote del Monte Bondone, Norwich Chapel Concerts in Norwich (UK), St Peter’s Church in Petersfield (UK), Music on Thursdays at LMC in Leatherhead (UK), Pinè Musica Festival, Robert Schumann Gesellschaft Düsseldorf – Heinrich Heine Institut, Kultur in Bethlehem in Immensee, Marktmusik Ahlen, Associazione Culturale Maestro Rodolfo Lipizer – Teatro L. Bratuz in Gorizia, Auditorium Compagnoni in Maccagno, Pomeriggi Musicali di Salò, ’t Mosterdzaadje in Santpoort-Noord, and the Accademia Vivarium Novum in Frascati.

During 2026, the Trio has scheduled important debuts in Sweden, Norway, and Finland, as well as concerts for associations and institutions in Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Germany, continuing several collaborations initiated in the previous year.

A particularly significant milestone is the release of the Trio’s first CD, published by NovAntiqua Records in 2025, which will be presented and promoted throughout the entire concert season.

The ensemble has also conceived a project dedicated to the chamber music of Marco Anzoletti, a late-Romantic composer from Trentino. Structured as a series of concerts for various chamber ensembles, the project aims to promote often unpublished works—many in world premiere—by a composer born and active in their home region of Trentino–Alto Adige.

The Trio has collaborated with Pirastro and with Ferrari Music, the exclusive Italian distributor of Vandoren Paris, which has included the ensemble among its artists since 2024.
